One of the fundamental activities of ENVIROS is a creation and operation of complex mathematics models of energy policy of the Czech Republic and its relationships to the environment, macroeconomics and the world around. The models are regularly used for various studies for state administration and also within international projects. To name a few concrete applications: Scenarios calculation for State energy conception, modelling of greenhouse gases emissions for the National statement of the Czech Republic within the UN convention on climate protection, as concerns international applications project ENGAGED (Program EU SYNERGY), which addressed safety of natural gas supplies in Enlarged Europe.
Working with energy and other statistics is essential for a number of company's activities, many times the statistic analyses themselves are deliverables of our work. As a very important project we can consider an elaboration of internationally comparable indicators of energy efficiency within a project supported by the EU SAVE Programme. ENVIROS also focuses on methodology of energy balances and participates in creation and maintenance of Management Information System of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic as concerns data collection and processing of energy statistics.
ENVIROS develops strategy studies and analyses for domestic and foreign clients in the sectors of energy, environment, transport, science and research. We devote ourselves to creation of methodology for stipulation of eligible costs for saving measures, combined heat/power generation and renewable energy sources (for example some projects with the Czech Energy Agency) and strengthening of the State Energy Inspectorate and raising capabilities of the Czech Republic to implement EU legislation and its transposition to the Czech conditions (project PHARE – SEI). Furthermore we develop a plan of the long-term development of electro-energy sector in the Czech Republic with regards to a possible construction of a new nuclear source (project New nuclear source for the energy sector of the Czech Republic), analysis of potential energy savings in terms of heat supplies, prognoses for utilisation of renewable energy sources in the Czech Republic by the year 2050, preparation of national strategy documents such as State Energy Conception or National Allocation Plan.
