Fuel cells represent a very promising and advanced technology, which has provable benefits in terms of energy efficiency, utilisation of alternative energy sources and environment protection. That is the reason why many research laboratories and companies are concerned in research, development and consequent production of fuel cells. The technology of fuel cells is currently on the verge of its practical usage for both mobile and stationary energy devices.
ENVIROS managed and realised a Pilot project of fuel cells utilisation in the Czech Republic. The project was developed in co-operation with the Czech Technical University, Faculty of Electric Power, Prague, where the fuel cells are placed, and supported by the Czech Energy Agency.
The primary goal of the Fuel cells pilot project was an operation and demonstration of fuel cells as a modern technology with a great potential in terms of decentralised heat and power supply. This innovative technology is to be presented to experts and public, students of the Faculty of Electric Power and representatives of the Czech industry. An expert seminar, which incorporated a presentation of fuel cells, has already been held on the board of the faculty.
The project shall also help introduce the technology of fuel cells in the Czech Republic and promote co-operation related to research or co-production of fuel cells components.
