The British-Czech conference on Industry and Climate Change Mitigation, which was organised by the British Embassy in co-operation with the British Council, ENVIROS consultancy and the Industry and Transport Union of the Czech Republic as the partner, took place in Hotel Mövenpick, Prague, Czech Republic, on April 23, 2007.
The conference was particularly focused on industry whilst aimed at identification of measures needed for climate change mitigation. The main spokesman of the conference was Sir David King – the British Government's Chief Scientific Adviser and Head of the Office of Science and Technology under the Department for Trade and Industry, who, together with the Czech and British politicians and managers, presented valuable experience and knowledge concerning the climate change issue.
During the conference the Official Statement (PDF [17 kB]) of the previous conference „Climate Change – Responsibility of Generations” held on 11 April 2007 was brought forward invoking responsibility for environment and appealing for political parties to accept this corporate responsibility.
