GHG Emissions Management and Emissions Trading Services

ENVIROS is a leader in the Czech Republic in offering services related to greenhouse gas emissions management and emissions trading.

Since 2002, we have been involved in working closely with the World Bank Prototype Carbon Fund's Umbrella project in the Czech Republic. This work has involved identifying and preparing several potential new joint implementation projects.

We have also provided technical assistance to all of the Central and Eastern European countries on design issues and options related to emissions trading. In addition, ENVIROS has carried out projects for both the Dutch and Canadian governments relating to evaluation of the potential for joint implementation activities in the Czech Republic and we have been involved in advising a number of companies on issues related to GHG emissions management and the identification and development.

Finally, we are involved on an ongoing basis in activities related to increasing awareness and understanding among companies in the Czech Republic and Slovakia on the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme which is scheduled to start in 2005. GHG Emissions Management Best Practice

Greenhouse Gas management best practice is closely linked to our work in the field of energy management. As increasingly carbon is going to become an asset on a companies balance sheet, it is important to understand current and future risks and opportunities. ENVIROS, s. r. o., can assist companies with:

  • Developing of Corporate GHG Inventories (setting boundaries, agreeing methodologies, data collection, GHG emissions estimation at a plant level, data roll-up to corporate level)
  • Developing Corporate Climate Change Strategies (actions to maximize opportunities and reduce potential future carbon liabilities, internal GHG emission reduction targets, internal carbon management procedures, internal/external benchmarking)

Joint Implementation and Emissions Trading Services

ENVIROS, s. r. o., assists companies as a project developer with a full range of services related to the identification and preparation of GHG projects. This includes both joint implementation projects where carbon credits are sold to the World Bank, Dutch Government or other carbon purchasing schemes and other GHG emission reduction projects. Our services include:

  • Greenhouse Gas Project development (project due diligence, environmental impact assessment, baseline development, monitoring verification protocols and development of full project design documents)
  • Carbon Contract Advisory Role (advising clients on strategic approaches to maximize financial returns from monetization of carbon credits through JI and emissions trading
  • Technical Services (site evaluation, design, contracting, and operation & maintenance)
