On behalf of the consortium of the international project NiCE (From Niche to Centre – City Centres as Places of Circular Lifestyles), we would like to invite you to a one-day seminar on sustainable lifestyles in cities. The seminar combines an inspiring discussion with a field trip to places of interest supporting the circular economy and will take place on Thursday 27 March 2025 from 9:00 – 17:00 in Jihlava.

In the morning there will be an interactive workshop focusing on how cities can promote sustainable lifestyles and close material flows. We will discuss the importance of education and awareness, incentives and support, the role of local communities and circular services. We will present examples of good practice from different European countries and look together for opportunities for further development.

In the afternoon, we will go on an excursion to inspiring places in Jihlava and its surroundings, where we will see the SILO Jihlava community centre, the local reuse centre Útulek věcí and the CIRCU material bank (more activities in the region are in the pipeline). These places show how the circular economy can be put into practice and contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle in our society.

The seminar will provide a unique opportunity to meet experts from other European countries, share experiences and find inspiration for sustainable activities in your city.
