On October 7, 2026, a ceremony was held to mark the completion of the project to reduce energy consumption at the Rudolf and Stefanie Benešov Hospital. The project, valued at over 220 million CZK, will bring significant energy and cost savings to the hospital. ENVIROS was involved in the project from its planning through to its successful completion.
Comprehensive Modernization of the Energy Management System
The project, implemented using the EPC (Energy Performance Contracting) method, involved an extensive modernization of the hospital’s energy management system with the goal of reducing the energy intensity of its operations.
The main measures implemented include:
- modernization of heat sources and heat distribution systems,
- installation of a cogeneration unit and a photovoltaic power plant,
- modernization of the lighting system,
- the implementation of individual heating control (IRC),
- measures aimed at water conservation.
The project was implemented by Veolia Energie ČR, a.s. Thanks to the use of the EPC method, guaranteed energy and cost savings are also part of the project.
ENVIROS as a partner from project preparation through completion
ENVIROS was involved in the project from its preparatory phase, during which it provided the hospital with an analysis of the suitability of using the EPC method, the preparation and submission of a grant application under the National Environmental Program (NPŽP), and the administration of the competitive bidding process for energy service providers.
The preparatory activities were supported by the ELENA program of the Central Bohemian Region.
The collaboration continued throughout the project’s implementation, during which ENVIROS managed the grant funding until its successful completion.
The Benešov Hospital project is an example of the effective integration of technical preparation, grant funding, and the EPC method, which enables the implementation of large-scale energy-saving measures with guaranteed results.
We would like to thank the Rudolf and Stefanie Benešov Hospital, the Central Bohemian Region, and all project partners for their cooperation.
