International CEESEU project to promote sustainable energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions

CEESEU (Central and Eastern European Sustainable Energy Union) is an international project, part of the CEESEN initiative, which is implemented to strengthen the capacity of public administrations to promote sustainable energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve climate change adaptation in Central and Eastern European countries.

ENVIROS – together with partners from Estonia, Croatia, Latvia, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovenia – is involved in the development of training materials and the implementation of training for representatives of Czech cities.

For smaller cities that would like to develop a Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) but do not have the financial or professional capacity to do so, the project offers to develop them free of charge. In the Czech Republic, the towns of Žďár nad Sázavou and Český Krumlov and the Local Action Group Hradecký Rural have taken advantage of this opportunity. Thanks to the Local Action Group Hradecky Rural and the CEESEU project, 37 municipalities in the Hradecky rural area have joined the Covenant of Mayors.
