We have created a model enabling the environmental evaluation of the so-called boiler subsidies (= subsidies for the replacement of heating sources in family houses provided by the OPIE under the specific objective 2.1 Reduce emissions from local household heating contributing to the exposure of the population to pollutant concentrations).
The output of the project was a tool used for the evaluation of specific programme indicators for specific objective 2.1. The calculator specifically evaluates the savings in emissions of pollutants TZL, PM10, PM2.5, SO2, NOx, VOC, B(a)P and also the greenhouse gasCO2. The model output also includes energy savings in the form of lignite (including briquettes), hard coal, biomass (pellets, briquettes and lump wood), natural gas and electricity.
