HERCULES project meeting in Croatia

ENVIROS participated in the HERCULES project partner meeting, which took place on June 12–13, 2025, in Labin, Croatia. The project partners met to discuss progress to date, particularly their activities in the area of establishing renewable energy communities (RECs). The program also included a visit to a local energy community that recently installed its first photovoltaic power plant.
At the meeting, Michael ten Donkelaar from ENVIROS presented the HERCULES project strategy, which defines a step-by-step approach to establishing a renewable energy community.
This strategy views the creation of an energy community as a business plan involving standard elements such as identifying resources and necessary skills and evaluating costs and benefits. The contribution of energy communities to reducing environmental impacts and alleviating energy poverty was also discussed.
