ENVIROS is a partner of the ODYSSEE-MURE project

ODYSSEE-MURE – EED-Recast Monitoring, a project supported by the LIFE Programme of the European Commission, relies on two complementary databases:

  • ODYSSEE contains detailed energy efficiency and CO₂ indicators with data on energy consumption, their drivers (e.g. activity indicators) and associated CO₂ emissions.
  • MURE provides quantitative and qualitative information on energy efficiency policies implemented at EU or national level.

Based on a history of more than 30 years, ODYSSEE-MURE provides comprehensive monitoring of energy consumption and energy efficiency trends as well as a sectoral assessment of energy efficiency policy measures for all 27 EU Member States, the whole EU, Switzerland and the Energy Community Contracting Parties (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Northern Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine) seeking closer cooperation with the EU.

For the period 2025-2027, the ODYSSEE-MURE project focuses on supporting national implementation and monitoring of key provisions of the revised Energy Efficiency Directive (EED, (EU) 2023/1791).

In order to present the project results in an interactive and attractive way to policy makers, stakeholders, researchers and other actors in the field of energy efficiency, specific data and policy tools are being developed based on the two databases. The originality of the project lies in the fact that it covers all sectors and end-use areas in a unified and harmonised approach, thus providing a comprehensive overview of energy efficiency trends and policies.
